BASELWORLD is the world’s largest watch and jewelry exhibition held in Bazel, Switzerland each spring. To communicate its global brand message and make visitors experience the CITIZEN brand beyond languages, CITIZEN exhibits a visually compelling installation every year at BASELWORLD. The booth and installation awarded in this instance was created for BASELWORLD 2013. The installation, titled “Frozen Time,” featured 50,000 watch main plates. Since these comprise the base of a watch and support all of its components, they symbolically represent the basis of CITIZEN’s watchmaking excellence. Lights reflecting off the main plates surrounded the visitors with amazing visual space where it felt if time stood still.
