CITIZEN Watch is releasing five limited-edition models from multiple collections to celebrate the 50th anniversary of light-powered Eco-Drive※1. Each model is inspired light and time – two essential elements of Eco-Drive technology.

LIGHT in BLACK Eco-Drive 50th Anniversary Edition Models

	Featuring Duratect Amber Yellow - a first for an ATTESA model. The concept of LIGHT in BLACK is beautifully expressed by the yellow gold-coloured indices, the golden ring around the dial at the six o’clock position, and the city names around the sapphire bezel.	The gleaming gold colour of the bold hour and minute hands provides a stylish contrast to the second hand and the subdial hands, creating a clean, uncluttered look. The specifications are exclusive to this limited-edition model that combines eye-catching gold-colored accents and a chic black dial.

	The multi-layered inkjet printing on the dial takes on different moods depending on the angle of the light reflecting off the dial. The golden accents on the dial evoke the image of glimmers of sunlight reaching deep below the surface of a calm sea.	Gold-coloured hands, indices, and push buttons bring to mind rays of light shining through the darkness. The inner surface of the sapphire glass and the inner ring have stylish gold-coloured edges that give the design an overall sense of balance and a stylish look.

	Sparkling gold-coloured accents are placed on the dial as indices, expressing a ray of light shining through the darkness. The diamond at the 12 o’clock position provides a glittering focal point. The blue accent on the crown, unique to CITIZEN L, expresses the beauty of our planet.

This technology offers excellent abrasion quality and maintains the luster of metals for long periods of time. Duratect DLC achieves Vickers hardness of 1,000-1,400 by creating an amorphous carbon hard film—mainly composed of carbon and hydrogen—on the surface of the material. (Vickers hardness of stainless steel is approx. 200 HV)
• ※5 Duratect amber yellow is a variety of Duratect that produces a soothing gold colour. It provides Vickers hardness of 1,700 to 2,300 HV, approx. 20 times harder than conventional gold plating.
• ※6 Anti-reflective coating: A multi-layered coating applied to the glass. The coating reduces the reflection of light from the surface of the glass that makes the dial easier to see.
• ※7 Light-level Indicator detects and displays the intensity of light striking the dial (which generates the electricity to run the watch) in seven levels, allowing wearers to easily gauge the charge level in any given situation.
