The CITIZEN watches are created as part of CITIZEN’s pursuit of the essence of the watch, offering both superior quality and outstanding accuracy. Two new light-powered Eco-Drive*1 models with Tosa washi paper dials and high annual accuracy of ±5 seconds will be launched.

Tosa washi paper has been used on the dials of The CITIZEN watches since 2017, bringing delicate patterns and textures to the dial while also allowing light to reach the Eco-Drive movement. Both of these new limited-edition models feature Tosa washi paper created by artisans using traditional methods in Kochi Prefecture. Each model showcases the beauty of Tosa washi paper in different but equally appealing ways.

The eye-catching AQ4100-65X features the unique texture of ultra-thin Tosa Tengujoshi paper in an appealing dark red color. The case and bracelet are treated with Duratect Platinum*2, giving the metal a gleaming, almost transparent silver hue. The eagle mark on the dial and the second hand are finished in a stylish gold color, providing stylish accents exclusive to this limited-edition model.

The distinctive AQ4106-00B features Unryushi paper which is created by incorporating long fibres into the paper during the traditional papermaking process. These long fibres create unique swirling cloud-like patterns interwoven with glittering gold fibres. 「The case is finished with Duratect Sakura Pink*3, creating an elegant and effortlessly glamorous look. The stylish crocodile leather strap is produced by a tanner certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG)*4.

Both models are equipped with a high-accuracy Eco-Drive movement with annual accuracy of ± 5 seconds. The eagle marks on the dial, crown, and case back symbolize the twin ideals of The CITIZEN - foresight and dedication to the pursuit of ideals as well as the enduring connection between watch and wearer.

This technology offers excellent abrasion quality and maintains the lustre of metals for long periods of time. Platinum is a soft precious metal with Vickers hardness of 50-100 HV. • *3 Duratect Sakura Pink: The gentle, understated pink color of Sakura Pink Duratect provides a beautiful contrast to any skin color. Sakura Pink Duratect is resistant to discoloration to maintain the beautiful pink color for longer. This technology achieves a high level of Vickers hardness from 1,100 to 1,500 HV. (Vickers hardness of stainless steel is approx. 200 Hv)
• *4 Leather Working Group (LWG): An international organization including brands that sell leather products to consumers, manufacturers of leather (tanners), and suppliers of chemicals to the leather industry. LWG assesses the environmental performance and safety of leather manufacturing, and grants certification to tanneries that meet its strict standards. In April 2023, Citizen Watch became a member of the LWG organization.
• *5 Perpetual calendar is a fully automatic calendar control function that automatically adjusts the end of each month, including the months of a leap year, until February 28, 2100.
• *6 Super Titanium™: Super Titanium™ is CITIZEN’s proprietary surface hardening technology used to treat solid titanium. It is at least 5 times harder than stainless steel, resistant to scratches, lightweight and gentle on the skin for a comfortable fit.
• *7 Anti-reflective coating:　A multi-layered coating applied to the glass. The coating reduces the reflection of light from the surface of the glass that makes the dial easier to see.
